Camping trip!

After a few days of pestering the village manager, me and my friends finally acquired a tent for our much anticipated camping trip- albeit a 20kg, 12 person tent with missing parts, but a tent all the same. We packed ourselves and our gear into the car early on Friday morning and made the uncomfortable, cramped journey to the natural bridge, then on to Lamington National Park. We didn't reach the campsite until gone sunset, as we went to the wrong place to start with! As you can imagine, the construction of such a large tent in the dark with only headlights to guide us was a barrel of laughs! However, the journey and effort was fully rewarded through the view of the stars we got that night. I've never seen anything like it. So bright and vivid, and the view of the milky way was unrivalled. We lay on the grass outside of our humongous tent and stuck on a bit of coldplay and just watched them. We even saw around 10 shooting stars! Unreal. The next day we got up bright and early for a 6 hour hike through the rainforest. I won't lie, I struggled a fair bit as I'm not the fittest of people, but the views we came across made it all worth it! Waterfalls, wallabys, lookouts and rock pools- we really were spoiled. After the hike, the guys found some rainbow lorikeets in the tree near where the car was parked, and fed them cereal bars so that they made themselves at home on their shoulders and arms. The birds were beautiful, and for someone who is by no means a bird fan, that's saying something! All in all, an amazing trip xxx
